Work with Queries

Creating search queries is available to all TestGear users. Filter work items by projects, sections, tags, and custom attributes. Save your queries as:

  • Private queries available only to you.
  • Public queries available to all system users.

Create Queries

  1. Go to TestGear homepage.

  2. Select Queries in the main toolbar.

  3. Apply necessary filters. You can filter work items by project, author, status, priority, type, creation date, automation status, tags, and custom attributes.

  4. Click Save.

  5. In the query creation window that opens, enter the query name and click Save. You can make the query public using the Publish to shared checkbox.

Private and Public Queries

You can make the private queries you created public and vice versa. Private queries are only available to you, so you cannot share this query. Public queries are available to all TestGear users and can be shared via link.

To view all available queries, switch the filter pane to the star tab. This tab lists all queries split into Private and Public.

To transfer a private query to public:

  1. Click the icon next to the query name.
  2. Click Make public.

You can transfer public queries you created back to the private state. To do that:

  1. Click the icon next to the query name.
  2. Click Make private.

To copy a link to a public query:

  1. Click the icon next to the query name.
  2. Click Share. The link is copied to clipboard.
